Hello & Welcome

Many who know me know that I eat, sleep and breathe astrology. I immediately ask new acquaintances “What is your birthday?”, and when I am really curious I will also ask for a birth time and place - and pull up a birth chart then and there. I memorize my dear one’s entire charts, and frequently alert them of important transits affecting their specific houses and natal planets.

Just for fun. And because that’s what I compulsively do. Obsessively, vigilantly and with passionate enthusiasm.

To my surprise, I was and am met with equal enthusiasm from my friends, loved ones and acquaintances whenever I speak about astrology. It turns out, people are STARVING for astrology - at least, the kind that is coherently organized and accessible. I started to get requests for full chart readings, first from my friends, then as gifts for their friends and families, and before I knew it - I had clientele and a service, birthed out of a labor of love, that was literally demanding to be made into a business.

I honestly did not seek to do this, I just LOVE to study and teach this so dearly, so I talk about it endlessly, and that’s been met with enormous celebratory receptivity. And I am humbled and deeply touched by that receptivity. I never had any intention to become ‘an astrologist’. I have another business, called Mind Body Nourishment - a clinical practice that focuses on the world of wellness and integrative health through both a highly scientific and nutritional lens as well as an energetics standpoint. It’s amazing work that I love - though I have longed to take deeper dives into the energetic, psychological and spiritual components of my Wellness practice, and so this venture also serves as a kind of sister creation stemming from and branching out from that element of my clinical work.

While I intentionally sought to turn my studies and interest in the field of integrative health into a business, that was never the case with my astrological studies, and yet here we are.

Time and time again I have found that the things that I love the very dearly most (astrology, yoga, meditation, the spiritual aspects of health and wellness, writing about esoteric and psychological musings and philosophy - and the intersection of them all…) are the areas of my expertise that are most sought after. And happen to be the things I have to work the least hard to understand. Shrugging of shoulders. It’s funny how that works - it is truly that which you are naturally and fluidly passionate about that ends up being what other’s are drawn to. So it is in the spirit of Following Your Bliss and the mysterious currents that say Yes to some pursuits you weren’t even pursuing - that I humbly, and with great curiosity, finally create an official astrology business. As per requested.

Alas, Bija Astrology is born. She’s been in the works and still is, but is here now to be shared. The name and concept come from the yogic term, Bīja, meaning ‘Seed’ - in a metaphorical sense it is seen as the beginning point of All, that essence containing everything in existence before it unfurls, the very Ethers themselves. I chose this name because this metaphor is so closely akin to how I understand the language and nature of astrology: It is the same energy described in this term, that unfolds in unceasing, constant movements and expansion, throughout space, and in each and every individual natal chart. One, in endless iterations - all birthed of this one source.

May this site and knowledge and what I offer here (and everywhere) be a source of nourishment, inspiration, guidance, belonging and inclusion - and may it serve to make this world a more peaceful and compassionate place, in some small way.
